2010 Fallen Officers Rally

Yesterday, over $50,000 was raised for Washington State Fallen Officers as a result of the first annual “Fallen Officers Rally” sponsored by the Puget Sound Harley-Davidson Dealers Association and hosted at Crystal Mountain.

Over 1,000 participants on 700 plus motorcycles set off from local area Harley-Davidson dealerships Sunday August 1, 2010 and rumbled their way to Crystal Mountain for a day of entertainment and remembrance for all our Fallen Officers.

The event was a sell out with 1,000 Rider V.I.P. tickets sold at participating dealer locations for $25 beginning in June, plus general admission at the event. 100% of the donations, sponsorship fees, and the t-shirts & ride pins sold went straight to the Behind The Badge Foundation, a non-profit organization who mission is to provide support to families of Washington State Police Officers who have suffered a line of duty death or catastrophic injury.

The largest single donation of $10,000 came from the Renegade Pigs Motorcycle Club of South Puget Sound. Other donations came from the Puget Sound Harley Davidson Dealers, Unified Grocers, GEICO, Progressive Insurance, Holiday Inn Express, Washington State Motorcycle Safety Training, Angel of the Winds Casino, Car Toys, KMPS/ KZOK radio, Key Bank., and all the families who participated.

2010 marks the 100th year that Harley-Davidson has been building police bikes. All dealerships have close relationships with their local law enforcement agencies, and many of them are customers. The Puget Sound Harley-Davidson Dealer Association felt it was time to honor those who give their lives on a daily basis so we can enjoy the freedom of the open road.
