Behind the Badge Foundation

Behind the Badge Foundation - an organization created from the combining of the Washington State Law Enforcement Memorial and 10-99 Foundations.  Strength and missions combined, Behind the Badge Foundation is dedicated to better serving law enforcement families and their agencies.  Together, with you, Behind the Badge Foundation is the families, communities and supporters behind the badge. 

The Foundation’s expanded mission includes the State recognized Line of Duty Death Response Team, financial support for line of duty death memorial services, support for catastrophically injured officer issues, a resource center to network counseling, financial planning, memorial planning, and legal assistance for affected families, and ongoing maintenance of the State Law Enforcement Memorial on the capitol campus in Olympia.

Our Mission

The mission of Behind the Badge Foundation is to honor the sacrifices of officers who have suffered a line of duty death or catastrophic injury by:

• Serving as the trusted resource to families and surviving officers
• Providing immediate and ongoing support
• Maintaining the Law Enforcement Memorial as eternal recognition and remembrance for fallen Washington officers

On January 1, 2009, Behind the Badge Foundation was formed by combining the Washington State Law Enforcement Memorial and 10-99 Foundations.  Our Board reflects the strengths and expertise of law enforcement and non-law enforcement alike.  Members of our Board, supporters and volunteers generate a network of support around the State to assist the needs of individual families affected by a line of duty death or the ongoing trials of a catastrophic injury.
